This festival, which celebrates the spirit of unity, joy, and tradition, has evolved beyond Assam, resonating with people across continents. Through cultural exchanges, international performances, and digital platforms, Bihu has found a global stage, connecting the Assamese diaspora and admirers of folk traditions alike.

A moment of immense pride in this globalisation journey was the historic achievement in 2023 when Assam entered the Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance. Over 11,000 Bihu Nasoni (Dancers) and Dhulia (Drummers) came together to showcase the vibrant tradition of Bihu, making history and bringing global recognition to this cultural treasure. This milestone reaffirmed the significance of Bihu as a symbol of Assamese identity and its growing influence on the world stage. As we witness this beautiful journey of Bihu from local celebrations to a global phenomenon, let us continue to preserve its essence while sharing its vibrancy with the world.
